Email marketing is a kind of direct marketing that uses electronic mail methods to communicate fundraising or profitable message to an audience. Every email that is sent out to current or possible customers can be referred to as email marketing. Email marketing is normally used to refer to things like: * Emails that are being sent via the internet as it is possible to email outside the internet (network email). * Sending emails to current customers and to enhance the relationship that one has with their customer. * To advertise new finding to current customers. * Sending emails to possible new customers * Keep current customers up to date with new products. There are many advantages when it comes to email marketing, some of them include: * Compared to other media investments, email marketing is the less expensive route. * In some places, email marketing is said to be one of the most effective marketing tactics online. * It is also very quick, compared to other methods like mailing; email marketing takes seconds to reach the recipient. * Unlike having a website where you have to wait for customers to come to you, email marketing allows you to give out your message to your customers. * You can find new customers all the time. However, with advantages, there always has to be a few disadvantages. These are: * Many companies use email marketing to communicate with customers, but other companies use email to deliver spam. * Getting responses that have nothing to do with your company or having to communicate with “fakes” that mess you around. The only real disadvantage with email marketing is the spam issue. If there was no spam then there would be no problem with email marketing. So there are more advantages than disadvantages when it comes to email marketing and that is a good thing. Along with email marketing, another great way to let your customers know about changes or new promotions and stock, you could send them newsletters. When they sign up and become your customer, there is an option they can choose about wanting to receive newsletters from your firm. If the tick yes they will always be up to date with what is going on. The newsletter is a great idea as it does not involve you having to directly speak to the customer and even if they are not in at the time of the email, they will still get it later when they return.
